The knots, keeps the thaar firm and tight. Without the knot, the thaar would get loosened over a period of time, and on your body movements. Bow down two times, and the thaar (without knots) would get loosened (killing its very purpose of keeping tight).
Thaar is a multipurpose garment ('device' ). One of the purposes is as a 'chastity belt (lock)'. The thaar, if worn right, protects the vagina from exposure and easy approach. It cannot be easily opened up. It requires the willingness of the lady to open up. Or else, it would call for a physical aggression and much efforts to open up. The knot at the two ends of the thaar mundu does the trick. The magic knots !!

Thank yu Revelator Sir,the magic knots are well learnt! In our area,I remember some elder ladies make a knote at the hanging end of the innerkonthala for such a safety;my chittamma also wears thar in the same mode.
Thank you very much for knot technique. We were using pins while going to temples. It will spoil the mundu and not so easy to put pins. Knot is very easy. Even today I recommended it to some or my friends and they are very happy to use this. Also please give suggestions to use a thorthmundu, since it will not be visible to any body. Some of my friends are using thorthmundu thar. But I am una ble to get proper madi to knot and tuck. I am using small nice mulmul mundu as thar. Please suggest about the wearing of a thorth mundu
The magic knots are very fantastic. We were using pins while using onnara. Now changed to knots. Please suggest how to wear a thorthmund, since I am unable to get proper madithala. Some girls are wearing thorthmundu, and it looks like wearing panties. I am interested in thorthmundu thar. Please give suggestions to wear.
